But with the arrival of the Internet and in particular the online auctions and again in particular eBay people have been given an unexpected opportunity to make a very good second income or have made selling collectibles in to a full-time business.

The significant problem here is knowing what to sell? Because the collectible market is huge, just go to collectibles on eBay put collectibles in the search engine and you'll get a vast combination of different items that people collect, the secret here is to find out which ones are selling . One way of doing this is to go to each individual page and in the advanced search click on highest finishing prices, this will give you an overall idea of what that particular collectible is selling for and how many people were looking to buy. But here is a little known tip that can cleverly save you hours of research; you need to put this URL into your browser http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/hotitems.pdf
And this will bring up the hottest item report for that month, it is made from an American perspective but the results work equally well in the UK anyway if something is worth selling it's worth selling worldwide.
You will find that hot products are listed by multiple category and subcategory's you'll find that some category's feature several times in the hot list and these are the most important of all to focus on as obviously these are the most popular items. Well that's it for this week I hope this information has been helpful to you. Please remember that if you would like to get in contact and pass on some of your tips and stories to other collectors then click on http://collectible.chris-allan.com/ send us an email we would love to hear from you,

Happy hunting
